MANNA AND MERCY COURSE

15 years ago, Holly and I participated in a Manna and Mercy Course at Claremont in Cape Town. The course revolutionised our faith. We’re running the course for young adults over an 8 week period starting 21st July. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will cover the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation, through the interpretive lens of Jesus’ life. The course costs R50. Contact James on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 012 660 2572 for details. Wendy and Siphiwe will co-facilitate this course with me.

EWA KNIT-A-THON

The Evening Women’s Auxiliary is planning a fundraising Knit-a-thon for 26th July from 2pm onwards. Knitters cast on 30 stitches and knit for one hour. Get sponsors for each row you knit, or pay a straight donation on the day. Bring along No 8 (4mm) needles and double knitting wool. The completed knitting will be donated to Friends Who Care in Lyttelton, who make items for Pretoria Child Welfare. Lots of Prizes to be won.

KHULUMA CLOTHING

We are in need of used industrial plain/straight sewing and overlocker machines for our skills development project and clothing factory. Any donation of these machines towards this project would be whole-heartedly appreciated. If you are aware of anybody selling any of these used machines please contact Anton at 073 980 6134 or 012 660 3532

GODLY PLAY

This Friday 24th June we will be hosting our first workshop for the production of Godly Play materials and would like to invite you if you are skilled in woodwork, to join us from 9-11am at West View.

LONG LEAVE

Every 6 years Methodist Ministers are granted long leave. I will be taking my long leave from Sunday evening, and will be back in full swing on Monday 25th July. Holly and the kids and I will be visiting my sister and family in England, Holly’s brother and family in Scotland, and various other family members scattered around the UK.

As our city is beset by turmoil and violence, join me in praying for peace, justice and prosperity to prevail. Let us also pray for God’s comfort upon the family members of those who have died in the violence.

In the service of Christ

 Ian

Senior Minister
